Artnet Article:

HongKong’s New Legislation Regarding Art Censorship

The new security laws in Hong Kong have had a profound impact on the art market, leading to increased caution among galleries and artists about the subjects they display. This has caused a shift in the types of artworks auctioned, with politically sensitive pieces being less likely to be shown or sold. The market for Chinese contemporary art, once robust due to high demand and prices, now sees a cautious approach to politically sensitive themes, impacting both the value and the vibrancy of the art scene in Hong Kong.
